Dr. Owen Thompson joined Lake Region Healthcare when the Barnesville Area Clinic merged with LRH in 2014. Dr. Thompson had been the owner of the Barnesville Clinic since 1992 and prior to that practiced in Pelican Rapids since 1980.
Dr. Thompson graduated from Louisiana State University School of Medicine and completed his Internship at LSU Division/Charity Hospital in New Orleans. He is a Henning, MN high school graduate and completed his undergraduate work at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks.
Dr. Thompson is excited about the opportunities that exist for Barnesville Area Clinic in the future having joined forces with LRH, both to better serve our patients and to make our facility grow and prosper as an asset to a regional healthcare system for many decades to come.
He and his wife Becky have three grown children.
