Full-time available with the Physical Therapy department. Day shift.

Provide direct physical therapy services, physical therapy evaluations, and consulting services to patients of Lake Region Healthcare according to the physical therapy practice act for the State of Minnesota. To serve on various LRH committees as assigned and to provide professional consulting to LRH employees as needed for safety and injury prevention. Provide physical therapy services for Lake Region Healthcare patients. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are mandatory for this position. Confidentiality and patient respect is vital. This is an acute care general type practice that involves a wide range of diagnosis. Services include neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups but the vast majority of the patient load includes post-adolescent patients. There is a small segment of pediatric patients who are typically seen for either therapeutic exercise status post orthopedic procedures, or are receiving compensatory exercises for a developmental delay. About seventy percent of the patient volume is out-patient care. Eighty to ninety percent of these cases involve acute musculoskeletal problems. The remaining ten to twenty percent are a mixture of pediatrics, neurology, vestibular dysfunction, and podiatry. About thirty percent of the patient volume is inpatient and consists mostly of acute orthopedics and neurology. Treatment programs include evaluation, therapeutic exercise, gait training, transfer training, postural training, strengthening, stretching, joint mobilization, soft tissue mobilization, vestibular rehabilitation, coordination exercise, and modalities. Specific modalities include deep and superficial heat, high voltage galvanic stimulation, TNS stimulation, hydrotherapy, and pulsvac debreidment.

Must be a graduate of a school of Physical Therapy and maintain current Minnesota licensure. Must be a member of the American Physical Therapy Association. This position also requires current Healthcare Provider level CPR certification upon hire or must be obtained within 6 months.
