(FERGUS FALLS, Minn.) Lake Region Healthcare (LRH) is pleased to welcome Colt Edin, MD Internal Medicine, to our medical staff. He will have a regular clinic schedule in addition to serving as a hospitalist.
Dr. Edin grew up on a farm north of Askov, MN. He received his medical degree at the University of Minnesota Medical School, Duluth and completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at Abbott Northwestern Hospital where he served as Chief Resident in 2015-2016. He received his undergraduate degree at St. John’s University and also has a Certificate in Manual Machining from Lake Superior College. In 2012 he completed a clinical rotation at the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden.
Dr. Edin is a member of the American College of Physicians and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
When asked why he chose to practice at Lake Region Healthcare he said that he and his wife were attracted to the quality people in the medical group in Fergus Falls and also to the Fergus Falls community.
In his free time, Edin enjoys reading voraciously, Boundary Waters canoeing, running his family's steam engine at Rollag, playing banjo and cooking.
Dr. Edin thinks it is important to build a relationship with each patient so there is a foundation on which to improve their health. He finds this quote by William Osler most fitting to the ideal practice of medicine:
"It is much more important to know what sort of patient has a disease than what sort of disease a patient has."
He and his wife Stacey have one son, Alton, and are happy to be settling their family in Fergus Falls.
