December Living Well Series offers Holiday Health tips at Open House

Recipes, massages, coping tips and more from 2-4pm on Dec. 19th

(FERGUS FALLS, Minn.) –Lake Region Healthcare’s (LRH) Living Well Education Series December session will have a different format from the typical evening lectures. Instead, an open house will be held in the clinic lobby on Monday, December 19th from 2 to 4pm and will offer a drop-by opportunity to enjoy some healthy snacks and chair massages, take home recipes for your next holiday party and tips for mental wellness when the holidays our seem overwhelming.

“There is a lot to celebrate during this season and our ‘Celebrate Living Well’ open house is meant to de-stress your celebrations,” said Karen Wulfekuhle, Social Worker at Lake Region Healthcare. “Maybe you need a reminder that 5-minutes of me-time can help you maintain sanity. Then our chair massages by Molly Nelson of Poppy Seed Massage is for you,” she said. “Or if loss, grief or sadness is your reality right now, we’ve got a take-home toolkit with simple tips to help you cope,” she added.

Wulfekuhle said LRH will also offer the first peek at their winter Community Health Challenge for 2017 at the event. Past events have focused on a community effort to exercise with a grand prize drawing for trips to tropical climates.

The Living Well educational forums are held the third Monday of each month  from September through May and are designed to offer a broad range of information on health related topics to address all seven components of Wellness.

All Living Well sessions are free and open to the public. Call 218.736.8699 or email livingwell@lrhc.org for information.

Individual session topics and details for future Living Well sessions are available on the “Education & Events” link at www.lrhc.org.
