Full-time position available with the Food Service department. Day/PM shifts. Cook - The purpose of this position is to prepare meats, vegetables, soups, sauces, vegetables, baked goods, salads, etc. which are of good quality, safe, and nutritious for regular and modified diets. This position reports to the Food Service Coordinator. Each cook works cooperatively with other cooking positions, cafeteria staff, and production staff in providing high quality food for patients, cafeteria customers, and special functions in a positive environment. The incumbent completes the work procedures and priorities within the imposed time frame. Food Service Assistant - The purpose of this position is to follow patient menus accurately on trayline, proper cleaning and sanitation of soiled dishes, pots and pans, and work area. Prepare nourishments and floor supplies and deliver to designated areas. This position reports to the Food Service Coordinator. The Food Service Assistant position has contact with hospital employees, visitors, and patients. Effective interpersonal and communication skills are a priority in this position. The incumbent has limited access to confidential information and must be able to maintain confidences. The incumbent completes the work procedures and priorities within imposed time frame.
Cook - High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum one (1) year experience in healthcare or institutional cooking preferred. Must have basic food preparation skills. Must be able to handle food in a safe and sanitary manner. Must be able to adjust to changing production needs and work closely with a variety of people for extended periods of time. Food Service Assistant - High school diploma or equivalent preferred. ServSafe certification or MN Department of Health Food Manager’s certificate preferred or willingness to successfully complete ServSafe certification course. Six (6) months related experience preferred. Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately. Ability to interact with patients, physicians, employees, and guests.
$12.24 an hour.
Wage displayed is hourly minimum. Experience is taken into consideration.
