Description: 

80 hours per two-week pay period with the Food Service department. PM shift.

The purpose of this position is to prepare meats, vegetables, soups, sauces, vegetables, baked goods, salads, etc. which are of good quality, safe, and nutritious for regular and modified diets. This position reports to the Food Service Coordinator. Each cook works cooperatively with other cooking positions, cafeteria staff, and production staff in providing high quality food for patients, cafeteria customers, and special functions in a positive environment. The incumbent completes the work procedures and priorities within the imposed time frame.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum one (1) year experience in healthcare or institutional cooking preferred. Must have basic food preparation skills. Must be able to handle food in a safe and sanitary manner. Must be able to adjust to changing production needs and work closely with a variety of people for extended periods of time.
