Dr. Barnes began her practice as Radiation Oncologist at our Cancer Care and Research Center in July 2011. Prior to moving to Fergus Falls Dr. Barnes worked at St. Peter’s Cancer Treatment Center in Helena, MT.
Originally from Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, Dr. Barnes obtained a B.S. in biology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Indiana, PA. After graduating with honors from Temple University School of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA, Dr. Barnes completed her Radiation Oncology internship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, DC and her Radiation Oncology residency at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, MD. She then went on to have additional Brachytherapy training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY. Most recently Dr. Barnes underwent fellowship training in Palliative Medicine at the University of Utah School of Medicine, Huntsman Cancer Center in Salt Lake City, UT, in 2009.
Dr. Barnes is currently board certified in both Radiation Oncology and Palliative Medicine through the American Board of Radiology.
Dr. Barnes enjoys visiting with family and friends. Her interests include bird-watching and hiking, extreme needlepoint, and cooking.
