On January 27, 2011, Dr. Bruce Money, Internal Medicine physician at Lake Region Healthcare, was notified he received his Board certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. This certification, recognized by the American Board of Internal Medicine and nine other Boards of Medicine, offers another dimension to the career paths of emerging and established physicians. It opens a dialogue for improving how hospices, hospitals, and nursing homes care for patients with chronic progressive illnesses as well as those near the end of life.
Dr. Money choosing to become certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, is showing his commitment to providing quality care in assessing and managing the physical, psychological, and spiritual suffering faced by patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
Dr. Money has been a member of the medical staff at Lake Region Healthcare since 1987. He is Board certified in Internal Medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He is Medical Director of Lakeland Hospice and Homecare.
