Area runners and walkers who participated in the Lake Region Run on June 7th raised can feel good about more than finishing the race. They also contributed to an overall donation of $4,500 to the Lake Region Healthcare Cancer Care and Research Center.

Karoline Gustafson, race coordinator said there were nearly 1,000 registered runners for the various races which included a Half Marathon, Half Marathon Relay, 5k, and 1 mile walk.

“Donations like this really make the difference in being able to provide our community’s cancer patients with world class cancer care close to home,” Dr. Swenson said. 

Next year's race is scheduled for Saturday, June 6th with a new start and finish area at the Fergus Falls Community Arena.
