Fergus Falls High School Grad Returns Home to Practice
(FERGUS FALLS, Minn.) – Lake Region Healthcare (LRH) is pleased to welcome Dr. Nicole Welle to our medical staff in the Psychiatry department.
Dr. Welle received her Doctor of Medicine at the University of Minnesota Medical School in Duluth and completed her undergraduate degree in Nutritional Science at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. She is also a graduate of Fergus Falls High School and the Minnesota State Community & Technical College in Fergus Falls.
Welle served as a research assistant at the U of M in a study of Soy Consumption and Prevention of Prostate Cancer. She also completed a summer internship in Medicine at Lake Region Healthcare in 2007.
“Throughout my medical training, I had wonderful opportunities to work with Lake Region Healthcare,” Welle said. “I chose to join Lake Region Healthcare due to the compassionate staff and the deep dedication to patient care. It will be a great place to pursue my professional interests within inpatient and outpatient adolescent psychiatry, general psychiatry and geriatric psychiatry,” she added.
Her personal interests include traveling and enjoying time with family. Since she and her husband are both from Fergus Falls, she says they are thrilled to have the opportunity to raise their daughter in this inviting and strong community.
