Description:
Diagnosis and procedure coding for all patient records; abstracting medical record information for hospital and nursing home's data collection system and any outside agencies as requested by Administration. Computer input of abstracted data. Help in reporting medical record data. These descriptions have excluded the marginal functions of these positions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. These position descriptions in no way state or imply that these are the only duties to be performed by the employees occupying these positions. Employees will be required to follow other job-related instructions and to perform any other job-related duties requested by their supervisors.
To perform in this position satisfactorily requires RHIT certification, or eligiblity for obtaining RHIT certification. Prefer experience in coding. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and ability to operate computer equipment required.
