To perform building maintenance-related duties in accordance with current federal, state and local standards governing assisted living communities.
Experience/ability to perform routine plumbing, drywall, painting, lighting, electrical, carpentry and mechanical maintenance and repairs of the facility, equipment and HVAC systems. Work experience in a housekeeping and/or service-oriented profession preferred. Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain annual Heart Saver-Obstructed Airway certification. Must have the ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Should possess good intervention techniques, effective communication skills with groups and individuals, problem solving and decision making capabilities, and the ability to solicit cooperation. Patience, tact, enthusiasm and a positive attitude towards the elderly is essential.
