Responsible for performing the accurate delivery of prescribed ionizing therapeutic radiation under the direction of a Radiation Oncologist using a variety of complex techniques and equipment. Share and coordinate key information through documentation and oral communication, with other members of the healthcare team. Ensure the ability to obtain and interpret information while considering each patient’s specific needs.
To perform this position requires a degree from an accredited school of Radiation Therapy with a minimum of 1-2 years experience as a staff therapist. Must be registered in Radiation Therapy by the ARRT. Current CPR required. Must have current knowledge of appropriate clinical practice, radiation protection and quality assurance, patient management and care, charges, basic dosimetry and equipment.
