The purpose of this position is to ensure that all functions and responsibilities of Patient Financial Services are executed in a timely, accurate and customer focused manner meeting all department and organizational requirements. This individual is responsible for overseeing the patient financial services processes, ensuring appropriate documentation of department activities and accurately prioritizing accounts based on urgency and dollar amount. This position is responsible for responding quickly and professionally to inquiries from patients and outside vendors. The Coordinator is responsible for ensuring timely collection of payment, accurate posting of payments and any follow up needed is performed by appropriate employees.
Bachelor's degree and/or extensive expertise in related revenue cycle functions such as patient financial services, medical billing, registration and charge coding. Ability to successfully lead, motivate and coach direct and indirect staff reports. Ability to analyze patient accounts and determine status and required actions. Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms and build strong relationships with related functions and departments. Working knowledge of related systems applications, spreadsheets and word processing software. Ability to provide outstanding customer service. Diplomacy skills to bridge complex and delicate issues and priorities across functional boundaries and with Lake Region clients, payers, and out outside vendors.
