Oversees activities related to the development, implementation, and maintenance of health information in compliance with federal and state laws and generally accepted HIM best practices. The HIM Coordinator owns the responsibility for release of information, clinic and hospital electronic health record maintenance and improvement. The HIM Coordinator serves in a leadership role in product and process development activities related to HIM practices.
Certification as RHIT and RHIA preferred. Signifigant exposure to HIM and medical records process required. Education and experience relative to the size and scope of the organizaztion preferred. Knowledge of Medical Staff payer credentialing and privileging preferred, in addition to previous management experience preferred.
