Description:
Facilitate concurrent and retrospective review of clinical documentation. Diagnosis and procedure coding for all inpatient records; abstracting medical record information for hospitals data collection system and facility. Also abstract medical record information for any outside agencies as requested by Administration. Computer input of abstracted data. Help in reporting medical record data.
To perform in this position satisfactorily requires a minimum of Associates degree in a health service discipline. RHIA, RHIT or RN. CCS credential required and must obtain CCDS credential within 1 year of hire. Must have ability to operate computer equipment. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and extensive knowledge of inpatient coding and documentation guidelines .
