Oversees activities related to the development, implementation, and maintenance of health information in compliance with federal and state laws and generally accepted HIM best practices. The HIM Coordinator owns the responsibility for release of information, clinic and hospital electronic health record maintenance and improvement. The HIM Coordinator serves in a leadership role in product and process development activities related to HIM practices.
High school or equivalent level of education, and significant exposure to HIM and medical records processes required. Certification as RHIT or RHIA, education and experience relative to the size and scope of the organization, previous management experience, and knowledge of Medical Staff payer credentialing and privileging preferred.
