The purpose of this position is to perform all ultrasound related duties including producing quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations while providing good patient care and maintaining your own good health. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the performance of diagnostic ultrasound examinations, or the training to perform such exams, in the areas of abdominal, obstetrical and gynecological, vascular, breast, and echocardiography. Along with direct patient care duties, this position includes cleaning and stocking, office work, and transportation of patients. This job includes in-house patients, emergency, and clinic patients. The job requires cooperatively working with other staff, to be flexible with hours, and to take call on a rotational basis. This position reports directly to the Radiology Director and is supervised by the Ultrasound Supervisor. The incumbent has contact with patients, LRH employees, volunteers, clinic personnel, and physicians. This position has access to sensitive, confidential information, and must be able to maintain those confidences. The incumbent must be able to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
Must have a minimum of one ARDMS registration and be working towards registration in the areas in which you are or will be performing examinations; or be a graduate of a school of Diagnostic Ultrasound and must successfully complete an ARDMS examination in a time frame set by the Ultrasound Supervisor. The level of education must include the ability to communicate effectively orally and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. This position requires current Healthcare Provider level CPR certification upon hire or must be obtained within 6 months.
