Description:  This position reports directly to the Pharmacy Director. The Pharmacist interacts with hospital employees, prospective employees, volunteers, administration, students, community personnel, clinic personnel, physicians, neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Effective interpersonal and communication skills are essential. The Pharmacist has access to sensitive, confidential information and must be able to maintain those confidences. The Pharmacist must follow policies, procedures, guidelines, priorities, and standards as required by Hospital policy, state and federal legislation, and professional standards. The Pharmacists interprets medication orders and clarifies unclear orders. The Pharmacist is responsible for the preparation and dispensing of medications including: oral, compounded medication, TPNs, chemotherapy and other dosage forms as requested.. Able to provide medication information to physicians, nurses, and other Corporation and/or medical personnel. Must be able to work independently and handle stress appropriately. Requires the ability to work cooperatively with all staff.
Must be able to supervise Pharmacy Technicians, students, and other personnel. Be able to accept pharmacy related tasks as requested by the Pharmacy Director. Upon completion of the performance review period, the Pharmacist must be able to perform certain responsibilities with competency (accurately and time efficiently).

Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills, and/or abilities.
1.  Education/Special Skills: To perform in this position requires a current Minnesota license as a Pharmacist and having obtained a Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited college of pharmacy. Knowledge of all legal aspects regarding drug dispensing, specialized functions of the Hospital Pharmacy and record keeping requirements. Ability to follow oral and written instructions with accuracy, precision, and dependability. Competency and good professional judgement are required. Ability to operate a computer and use/evaluate software programs.
2.  Successful completion of the pre-employment health screening process required.
3.  Must be able to attend the work site per schedule, administration request, and emergencies as they arise.
