To supervise the accurate and timely transcription of all medical dictation and distribute reports to the patient’s electronic medical record. This position reports directly to the HIM Coordinator. The clinic service transcription lead has contact with clinic employees and providers. Effective interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this position. The incumbent has access to sensitive, confidential information and must be able to maintain those confidences. The incumbent establishes the work procedures and priorities within imposed deadlines.
High School or equivalent level of education preferred, medical secretarial training preferred or one year clinical experience in transcription. Typing skills of 60 wpm or higher. Proficient in Microsoft Word. Proficient and professional communication, both verbal and written. Supervisory experience preferred.
