The purpose of the position is to ensure the areas assigned to Environmental Services meet or exceed the standards of performance and quality established to meet customer needs. The The EVS Coordinator of Environmental & Linen Service will report to the Nutrition & Environmental Services Director. He/She will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization policies, procedures and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and hiring employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Responsible for meeting and maintaining safety and sanitation standards throughout the facility. Will have high level of exposure to internal and external customers and must demonstrate positive customer relations by having a good knowledge of where all departments and services are located. Works with patients, families, departmental co-workers, members of the multidisciplinary health care team, physicians, physician’s office personnel and the general public.
Associates degree required. Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. Supervision experience, experience in a medical facility, and a broad knowledge of cleaning procedures as related to hospitals and clinics preferred.
